Fairs and congresses in Ankara, Turkey

Ankara, Turkey’s capital, is located in the same-named province and is the second-largest Turkish city with almost 5 million inhabitants (as of 2016). Besides being the administrative center of the Turkish government, the city is also one of the largest industry locations of Turkey. Moreover, it is an attractive location for science with its ten universities. Ankara has a rich history, which can be seen by sights like the Antikabir, the mausoleum of Atatürk, as well as the Anadolu Medeniyetleri Müzesi, the museum of the Anatolian civilization. Many more landmarks, museums or religious sites as well as its rich food culture with the Etli Ekmek, a variation of pizza popular in central Turkey, invite visitors to explore the city. All in all, Ankara is impressive because of its combination of a lively political-industrial character and history-charged fascination. The airport called Esenboğa Havalimanı, about 30 km north of the city, is served by Turkish Airlines, among others. The city can be reached by bus and even faster by taxi. However, in winter, problems due to the weather can arise.
