Fairs and congresses in Bahrain, Bahrain

The microstate of Bahrain is a kingdom consisting of about 30 islands in the Persian Gulf. The total population is approximately 1.2 million, while the national territory is about as large as the state of Hamburg. Its capital Manama is home to around 160,000 people. More than 70% of the inhabitants are Muslim, which at the same time is the official religion. The economic vitality of the small country primarily results from the local fossil oil and natural gas deposits. But also tourism is becoming more and more important to the desert country. Bahrain’s climate is subtropical, temperatures rarely drop below 20 degrees Celsius, and the water temperature can reach more than 30 degrees in summer. Although there are only some remote natural beaches, the archipelago is popular with swimmers. Furthermore, there is no strict drinking ban, which is why a great number of visitors from near Saudi Arabia visit the islands regularly. Lufthansa as well as Gulf Air, the country’s national airline, take off from Frankfurt/Main directly to Bahrain. The flight takes between seven and eight hours.
