Cape Town lies in the southwest of South Africa, is the second-largest city of the country and home to the South African parliament. It spans an area of around 2,460 square kilometers and has about 3.7 million inhabitants, which however is not easy to determine. Besides the central languages Afrikaans and isiXhosa, English is spoken just as much. Tourism is an essential industry; visitors are connected via an international airport. Additionally, there are various railway and bus lines. A great number of tourists explore the city every year. The Victoria & Alfred Waterfront attracts a lot of locals and guests with its shopping options and gastronomy. The Long Street, where numerous pubs, nightclubs and bars are located, is the vibrant main street of Cape Town. The Table Mountain offers magnificent views of Cape Town and the ocean. You can also see Robben Island, where freedom fighter Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for nearly two decades. The Cape of Good Hope can be found south of Cape Town.
