Fairs and congresses in Montreal, Canada

With 1.6 million inhabitants Montreal is the second-largest Canadian city and with 3.8 million people the second-largest metropolitan area of Canada. The city lies approximately 50 kilometers north of the US-American border on the hill Mont Royal that builds an island between the Saint Lawrence River and some branches of the Ottawa. Montreal is a significant supraregional metropolis; its company spectrum ranges from tourism and industry to aeronautics and pharmaceutics. It takes a similar position in the cultural scenery of Canada, since there are four universities and a great number of museums and art spots in Montreal. Thanks to multiple airports, the embeddedness in the national and international rail network, a well-developed car route and its connection to the inland waterway transport, Montreal is quite easy to reach. The breathtaking skyline is what catches the visitor’s eye first, but also the old town with its many restored historical buildings is worth a visit. To get away from the city’s hurly-burly, it is recommended to visit for example the Parc du Mont Royal.
