Nuremberg has half a million inhabitants and is thus the second-largest city of the Free State of Bavaria after Munich. It is the administrative seat of the government of Middle Franconia and the economic and cultural center of Franconia. Nuremberg is easily reachable by car, railway or plane from the near Nuremberg Airport. Nuremberg is also a university city, but is not only attractive to students. The Christmas market called ‘Christkindlesmarkt’ that annually takes place during the Advent season is not the only attraction that makes Nuremberg rich in variety. A visit of the medieval inner city is also much recommended. Here, numerous restaurants offering cozy atmospheres and the hearty Nuremberg grilled sausage are the highlights.
