Fairs and congresses in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon – the Brazilian metropolis boasts a number of world-renowned beaches. The second-largest city of Brazil extends around the Guanabara Bay and has more than six million inhabitants. But it is not only the miles upon miles of sandy beaches that make the city so fascinating for visitors from all around the world. Cristo Redentor is Rio de Janeiro’s landmark and can be seen from almost all parts of the city. Guided tours to the statue of Christ are a highlight of this Brazilian megacity. In addition, the Sugar Loaf Mountain (Pão de Açúcar) is worth a hike. With a ropeway, tourists can reach the observation platform in the district of Botafogo. Other sights are the annual carnival parade, the Museum of Tomorrow and the favela Santa Teresa. The former capital of Brazil and Portugal has both an international and national airport. To get from one place to another in town, taxis are recommended. There is a small subway network and public transport as well, but these do not work properly.
