San Francisco is situated in the state of California that draws a lot of tourists every year. At the same time, it is a metropolitan area that lies on the West Coast of the Pacific. With roughly 800,000 inhabitants, it is among the fourth-largest US-American cities. In 1776, the first European settlers named it in remembrance of Francis of Assisi. San Francisco is especially known for the Golden Gate Bridge, which is a typical postcard picture and photo. The bridge is not only famous for its length, but also for its hue “International Orange”. Another highlight is the most winding Lombard Street, which is not far from the old streetcar and the typical Victorian line of houses. The inhabitants are very sporty and love vegan food. The city has an airport of its own and its university is well-reputed globally.
