With roughly 650,000 inhabitants, Seattle is the largest city in the northwest of the United States. Especially due to its port that enables trading with Asia and Alaska it is an important hub for the American economy. One of the most well-known landmarks of Seattle is the Space Needle. This 184 meters high tower was built for the World Exhibition in 1962 and was the first tower with a rotating restaurant. Since then, the Space Needle has been one of the signature elements of the skyline. Besides that, there are a lot more sights in the city, such as the “Chihuly Garden and Glass” that draws masses of tourists every year. Aviation enthusiasts are recommended to visit the “Museum of Flight”; strolling and browsing is possible in “Pike Place Market”, where the first Starbucks ever was opened.
