Wiesbaden is an independent city in Hesse and its state capital at the same time. With its roughly 300,000 inhabitants, it is the second-largest city in the state of Hesse and besides Frankfurt/Main, Mainz and Darmstadt one of the Rhine-Main metropoles. Thanks to its excellent connections to the continental airport Frankfurt/Main, the city is easy to reach. A range of large companies but also SME have offices in the city. Wiesbaden is one of the oldest health spa cities in Europe. The thermal springs have a temperature between 6 and 15 degrees Celsius and were already appreciated by the Romans and Charlemagne, who named the city Wisibada. The RheinMain University of Applied Sciences has more than four campuses within the city and is internationally well-reputed.
