With approximately 2.1 million inhabitants, Houston is the biggest city of Texas and the fourth-largest US city. It is home to some of the major American refineries and is therefore one of the most important ports and transshipment centers for petroleum products. There are three universities in Houston as well as the Johnson Space Center which earned Houston the name of “Space City”. Apart from this, Houston offers various cultural highlights, like the Wortham Center, which houses the Houston Grand Opera, or the Holocaust Museum. The city boasts culinary variety, and particularly authentic Mexican cuisine. The chocolatier art of “Cacao & Cardamom” provides a certain degree of extravagance. Houston is the door to the “Lone Star State” and at the same time offers cultural variety and cosmic innovations. The George Bush Intercontinental Airport connects the city to the international flight network. It is located around 40 kilometers north of the city and is the arrival point of international and intercontinental flights.
